Is Shawn's Hummer Armored?

You know, all this talk about not having armor on HumV's, (the military version of the popular urban assault vehicle) got me thinking. Hummer's are not armored. They never have been. They are not Bradley fighting vehicles. They are not tanks. They never have been armored. Now I am not talking about the personal use whimped out consumer versions, though you can certainly get (and many do) those custom armored. What I am talking about is the military version.

Let's think about this for a moment. The HumV replaced what vehicle in the military? I'll give you a hint. It was pretty darn popular. Hell, Patton strolled across Europe in one. You've seen them on "M*A*S*H". That's right, the JeeP!!!

Ok, so the JeeP was armored? Yeah, that nice "TOPLESS" military vehicle was armored? No, it was not. So let's think about this again for a moment..........

The JeeP was NOT armored, and the HumV replaced the JeeP. Given the fact that the HumV now has a top, unlike the JeeP, I would say there was a vast improvement made, right? JeePs have high center of gravity, and are narrow, so they roll easy.. The HumV? Nope.. (well maybe the consumer version). Ok, so there are numerous advancements to list, but no time to do so. It is pointless.

Ok, it would be nice to armor the HumV, and I think they should, but to listen to the media bitch and complain about the fact that we sent HumV's over to Iraq with no armor, when they were NEVER armored in the first place is bothersome.

Next we will start complaining that Military Motor Cycles are not armored.

So, is Shawn's Hummer armored?
