Tsunami death toll tops 116,00 - Screw the UN

Thank God President Bush has decided to let the US help with relief (like we really should anyway given the animosity of many of these terror nations have towards the US) rather than let the money laundering UN suck us dry again.

It is really amazing to think that if the US reacts in 5 minutes or 5 days, there will still be people out there bitching. And, whether the US sends 20 million dollars or 20 billions (again, like we should) people will still bitch.

It just drives me wild to think that when the US is needed by the very nations that attack us, we are not doing enough. Go figure. Here we are, the US Taxpayer, getting sucked dry again. Many of the populous in that part of the world do not like us, but they sure love our dollar.

Above all, can we remember the thing that matters most here? The human tragedy. Well over 116,000 dead now. It is truly terrible, horrible. That said, our role should be of an independent nature. I for one as a contributor to the relief efforts (my tax dollars) would rather see our (my) money spent helping these people. I do not want to see incompetent uneducated dirt bags like Coffee Anan and his scum bag retard son siphoning my money away like they have done so many times in past.

One last thing. Everything we send over there, whether it be food, clothing or medicine should have a great big American Flag and MADE IN USA stamped on it.

Is Shawn's Hummer Armored?

You know, all this talk about not having armor on HumV's, (the military version of the popular urban assault vehicle) got me thinking. Hummer's are not armored. They never have been. They are not Bradley fighting vehicles. They are not tanks. They never have been armored. Now I am not talking about the personal use whimped out consumer versions, though you can certainly get (and many do) those custom armored. What I am talking about is the military version.

Let's think about this for a moment. The HumV replaced what vehicle in the military? I'll give you a hint. It was pretty darn popular. Hell, Patton strolled across Europe in one. You've seen them on "M*A*S*H". That's right, the JeeP!!!

Ok, so the JeeP was armored? Yeah, that nice "TOPLESS" military vehicle was armored? No, it was not. So let's think about this again for a moment..........

The JeeP was NOT armored, and the HumV replaced the JeeP. Given the fact that the HumV now has a top, unlike the JeeP, I would say there was a vast improvement made, right? JeePs have high center of gravity, and are narrow, so they roll easy.. The HumV? Nope.. (well maybe the consumer version). Ok, so there are numerous advancements to list, but no time to do so. It is pointless.

Ok, it would be nice to armor the HumV, and I think they should, but to listen to the media bitch and complain about the fact that we sent HumV's over to Iraq with no armor, when they were NEVER armored in the first place is bothersome.

Next we will start complaining that Military Motor Cycles are not armored.

So, is Shawn's Hummer armored?

vandal hits Nativity

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the Manger. Ok, so it is bad enough that we cannot set one up in a public place, bad enough that religious groups complain about the type of Nativity being set up, now we have morons attacking wax Nativity's? Who wants to bet this is a freegan's, or one of those blue state freaks that is looking for something new to hate.

I give up.

Ah, the Nativity's lookin Waxy

Ok, so let me get this straight. When it is hard enough to find any place now-a-days that actually supports having a Nativity scene, we are now complaining about the figures used to portray the Nativity?

Read the full and waxed up story here.

Remember when it was ok to be a Christian? Remember when believing in what you believed was more about your beliefs and less about placating to some inane anti-you doctrine that states:

"be embarrassed about who or what you are.. that is the only way you can respect what you are not."

Let's get back to the simple things in life to complain about, like over grown lawns, noisy dogs, disgruntle post people (politically correct description of what was once known as a POSTMAN).

Honestly, who gives a rats ass? At least someone is actually displaying a Nativity Scene... What's more disrespectful? Having a scene that depicts the pres as a wise man, or not having one at all?

Reminds me, I have yet to set up my Nativity. I think I will do that tonight when I get home.

Fire Trucks!

You know, it is simply amazing all the things you remember you loved when you were a child, when you have one! It was a childhood dream (among all the childhood dreams I had) to be a fireman. I used to watch that show "Emergency" With paramedics John Gage and Roy DeSoto. Who didn't have the hots for Nurse Dixi McCall at Rampart Hospital? I still remember that "bam ba, bah, barh, bahhhhh..." sound that the fire house made when there was an "Emergency".

So again, what is it that sparks these lost memories from the deep dark shadows of my cerebral collective? My kid! We went to the Lake Geneva Christmas parade last night as we always do, and as with all parades, the start and finish always include a showing of some of the finest pieces of machines and tax dollars well spent. Beautiful bright Red Fire Trucks!

Ah, the wailing of the loud sirens and deafening air horns. The brave men and women that pilot these monsters into some of the most dangerous situations. Volunteers that give of themselves and their lives to make sure we are all safe from whatever the peril. Be it a simple bond fire run a muck, to a 3 alarm warehouse fire, or simply retrieving a precocious yet curious feline from the tallest of trees.

I took tons of pictures of these fine works of art including a nice shot of a couple of fireman a top the boom of our largest hook and ladder! They actually stopped the truck in the middle of the parade for me so I could zoom in an get a shot. Amazing!

I new I was taking a lot of photos of fire engines for some reason, though it did not occur to me until I returned home when my son grabbed his fire truck and began playing with it. Sure, he has played with it before, but never once did he move it around the floor and begin making "weeee oooooh" sounds! His fire truck has a button that activates the siren. He's always used that button. Not this time. I'm not sure if my little fireman simply associated the his fire truck to the larger than life full scale models he had seen earlier that night, but he certainly recognized that siren. His friend Howard did not seem to enjoy the blaring and at times obnoxious blast from the horns and sirens, but my boy looked with excitement and amazement never once crying or complaining. Not every kid like that type of noise. Though mine seems to enjoy making that noise now!

I still want to be a fireman!

Is this a blue state?

Only in America would a bus driver be fired for saying something about stem cells. Come on...
I love how the superintendent says that "employees are generally told that polical and religious discussions should be confiend to a classroom setting."

What???

I thought that religion had no place in a public school? Ah, the hypocrisy. When are these nut bags gonna get a clue?
What next? Janitor fired for comments about why smoking is bad for you??????

"Julianne Thompson, 42, told students in November that actor Mel Gibson had said in an article that embryonic stem cell research had not produced a single human cure in 23 years.

Some parents complained and school officials in the Buffalo suburb fired the driver.

Superintendent Thomas Ramming said employees are generally told that political and religious discussions should be confined to a classroom setting where different viewpoints can be presented.

But Thompson said there is nothing in her contract that prohibits her from expressing facts or opinions. She is considering legal action, saying officials have yet to explain why her comments were inappropriate.

"I learned that free speech is definitely not free," Thompson said."

To Blog, or not to Blog... Ah, that is the question

So I have thought of "blogs" for some time as a means for people with no life to post their useless thoughts for all to see knowing full well that no one cares, and no one is really listening. That said, I vowed never to start one. Now that I am, does this mean I have no life? Does anyone really care? And is anyone really listening? Who cares?
